Coconut sugar is good to be added in baby foods and the best immunity boosting natural sweetener for babies above one year. This recipe is also filled with the goodness of dry fruits powder which is good for brain and body development. Adding dry fruits powder regularly in kid’s diet is the best way for healthy weight gain. This recipe is suitable for babies above 1 year.
Ingredients
- Lauki/ Bottle gourd Grated – 1 cup
- Coconut sugar – 1/4 cup
- Dry fruits powder – 1 Tbsp
- Ghee – 1 Tbsp
- Cardamom powder – a pinch
- Milk – 3/4 cup
Instructions
Heat Ghee in a pan.
Add grated Bottle gourd.
Saute for 8-10 minutes in medium flame until raw smell goes off.
Add Milk and mix well.
Let it boil and stir for 10 minutes on low flame.
Add dry fruit powder, coconut sugar, cardamom powder and mix well.
Let it thicken till desired consistency.

Method
Wash and peel the Lauki.
Cut the peeled lauki into small cubes.
In a pressure cooker, add the lauki and moong dal with 50 ml of water.
Cook for 1 to 2 whistles on a medium flame.
After it cools, add jeera powder and either mash it or blend it to make a soft puree.

Directions
In a pressure cooker, heat a tbsp. of ghee and add cumin seeds.
Let it splutter.
Add shallots and garlic. Fry until translucent.
Add cubed bottle gourd and moong dal.
Saute for few seconds.
Add 1 cup of water.
Pressure cook for 2 whistles in medium flame.
Mash well with a masher.
Add piping hot water to obtain required consistency.
Serve the soup warm.
