NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — In an orderly style, children at the Kirkpatrick Neighborhood Middle are mastering the basics of meal prepping.
Classes protect almost everything from hygiene to safe knife handling procedures.
“We want to equip little ones with different variants of healthful veggies and fruits and that is what we want to introduce to this plan,” Tiffanie Fletcher, software coordinator for the center, claimed.
About 200 college students in beneath-served communities will be able to take pleasure in the cost-free lessons. Fletcher stated the funding will come from the federally sponsored Baby and Grownup Care Food stuff System.
“It is really a funded software and they reimburse us for all meals that we do for our kids, but one of the parts in the application approach is that we want to be instructing and aiding small children make individuals more healthy decisions,” she said.
For two yrs local community centers across the city have supplied free of charge meals to kids in right after-faculty plans. Now at 9 local community facilities, food prep lessons will be available far too.
