WINDSOR TWP — No injuries have been noted right after a Windsor Township fire destroyed a residence and killed two animals Saturday.
Significant black smoke billowed from the Billwood Highway home in Eaton County and Windsor Township firefighters could see flames when they arrived at the blaze Saturday at 10:40 a.m. One gentleman was asleep inside of the residence, but escaped right after the audio of smoke detectors and the odor of hearth woke him up, according to Windsor Township Unexpected emergency Providers Main Phillip Miller.
Miller said no accidents were described, but two pets ended up killed. The property is a full loss, he explained.
The trigger of the fire continues to be below investigation.
Emergency responders from Benton Township, Grand Ledge, Roxand Township, Sunfield, Charlotte, Delta Township and Vermontville assisted at the scene.
